A Legacy of Excellence Since 1992
In 1992, we opened our doors with a simple yet profound mission: to give every child in Kirinyaga County access to excellent education grounded in Christian values and moral principles. More than three decades later, that mission hasn’t changed—it has only grown stronger.
From Humble Beginnings to Educational Excellence
What started as a small school has blossomed into one of Central Kenya’s most respected and sought-after educational institutions. Our students have gone on to achieve remarkable success at National Secondary Schools, prestigious universities across Kenya and beyond, and built successful careers in every field imaginable—from medicine and engineering to law, business, technology, education, and public service.
Consistent Growth, Unwavering Values
But growth hasn’t changed who we are. We remain the school where:
- Teachers know every student’s name and understand their unique potential
- Matrons treat boarders like their own children, providing nurturing care and guidance
- Every student feels like they’re our own, fostered in a family-oriented environment
- Personal attention and individualized support are not just promises, but daily practice
Our Foundation: Christian Values & Character Development
Everything we do rests on strong Christian principles and timeless values. We teach your child not just to be smart and academically excellent, but to be good—to develop:
- Strong moral character and integrity
- Hard work and dedication to achieve their goals
- Respect for others and compassionate leadership
- Responsibility towards their community and nation
- Discipline and self-control in all aspects of life
- Talent development beyond the classroom

Three decades of excellence
Our Founders
Kerugoya Municipality School was built on a foundation of dedication and vision. In 1983, Mr. Cyrus Munene Mwenje and Mrs. Faith Muthoni Munene—both experienced educators—started what would become a pillar of education in Kirinyaga County. Mr. Mwenje, trained at Kagumo Teachers College, spent 16 years leading some of Kenya’s top schools before retiring early to focus on building this institution. Mrs. Munene, a Kenyatta University graduate, brought warmth and professionalism that shaped how we care for students. Together, they created more than a school—they built a place where children’s potential is discovered and nurtured.
